Adopt-A-Family

The beloved Adopt-A-Family Program, now administered by NECC, helps to ensure that local families have what they need during the upcoming holiday season. With rising food prices and housing costs in our area, many families face a challenging winter.  NECC depends on the support of individual donors to make this invaluable program a great success.

Income Tax Assistance

This program that runs through April 15th is for low-income families, students, and seniors who dial 2-1-1 to get their taxes done.

Our volunteer preparers are trained and certified by the IRS. They can do 1040s, file for education, child, earned income, and other credits, and provide tax counseling. Offering New York and Connecticut returns, this program e-files everything to get clients refunds quickly.

This service is free and available to individuals and families whose returns are "in scope" for our volunteers' training. When clients call for an appointment, they are asked a few questions to make sure the program can help.

To make a tax appointment at NECC or any site around Dutchess County, dial 2-1-1.
Do you live outside of Dutchess County? Call 800-899-1479 to make an appointment.

To volunteer for the program, email or call Jessica at 518-789-4259 x105.

Annual School Supply Drive

Donations from generous individuals in the NECC community enable us to provide children with everything from backpacks and water bottles to calculators and headphones for at the start of each new school year. In 2024, 135 students were outfitted with school supplies!

Supplies are distributed directly to students within the NECC’s service area including those in Webutuck, Dover Plains, Pine Plains and Millbrook Central School Districts in time for the start of the school year.

For questions or to donate in person, please contact Vanessa at (518) 789-4259 ext. 102.
