NECC offers several programs for senior citizens:

Care Car: Need a ride to a doctor, grocery store, or outing? Our volunteers will get you there! Most trips are in the local area, but our volunteers may be able to take you to Poughkeepsie, Hartford, Torrington, or other nearby cities. Rides are free but we welcome your donation to help maintain the car and sustain the program. Please call at least 4 days in advance, if possible, to schedule your ride. The Care Car is is made possible by a grant from the Foundation for Community Health, the Dutchess County Office for the Aging, and the Community Foundation of Dutchess.

Exercise Class: Increase your strength, balance, and flexibility with light weights and gentle stretching at our free classes (held every Tuesday and Thursday at 9 am).

Holiday Banquet: The students in our after-school program hold an annual lunchtime banquet — a great opportunity to get to know the young people in our community. They are always so proud to offer this event, and they learn so much from it. If you’re interested, let us know and we’ll make sure you get an invitation to the next banquet!

Extra Helpings Food Coop: Anyone who could use a bag of high-quality groceries at a discounted price can benefit from this program. Sign up at the beginning of the month for the basic package or several specials, which vary monthly. The items arrive at the end of the month.

Many other services are available from assistance with utility bills and free tax preparation - see our Community Services Page for more.
