NECC has several ongoing programs that enable low-income members of our community to get extra help and support. From tax preparation help to discounts off your utility bills, just give us a call to learn more about any of these programs and services.

Currently available are:
Discount Drug Cards: provided by the United Way of Dutchess County, these provide significant discounts on most discount drugs and are accepted at many local pharmacies. Call or stop by between 9-5 to get one.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance: Keep the money you earned, and get all the credits and refunds you are entitled to!
In 2009 our IRS trained volunteers and staff helped 100 families complete their tax returns, with an average refund of nearly $2,000, sometimes much more. There is no charge, and we will make sure you get the Earned Income Tax Credit and any other credits for which you are eligible. Volunteers welcome, training provided.
By appointment only between January 15 and April 10, call NECC or 2-1-1 to make an appointment.
Utility Bill Vouchers: Thanks to the Holiday Helping Hands Program of the United Way of Dutchess County, we have a limited number of $50 voucher which can be used towards Central Hudson or NYSEG Bills. Only available to residents of Millerton, Amenia, Wassaic, Dover Plains and Pine Plains. Have your account numer available when you call!
Extra Helpings Food Coop: Anyone who could use a bag of high-quality groceries at a discounted price can benefit from this program. Sign up at the beginning of the month for the basic package or several specials, which vary monthly. The items arrive at the end of the month. Call or stop by to get a menu. A program of the Regional Food Bank through the Dutchess Community Action Partnership.
